According to this report, the economies that do well in the Paying Taxes study include Singapore, Ireland, Mauritius, Canada, Kazakhstan, Uk, Norway and Finland.
The report found that corporations in Mauritius paid seven taxes a year, just behind Bhutan and Mexico with six taxes a year. Taxes accounted for 25% of corporate profit, compared to 33.1 % in South Africa, 49.6% in Kenya and 45.5% in Tanzania. The average time taken to prepare, file and pay these taxes was 161 hours a year in Mauritius, way ahead of South Africa with 200 hours, 393 hours in Kenya and 172 in Tanzania.
On average, around the world, company makes 28.5 tax payments in a year, takes 277 hours to comply with its tax affairs and has a tax cost of 44.8% of its commercial profits.
