This sum constitutes the first payment, on a total amount of Rs 24 millions planned over three years within the framework of the Social plan of La Balise Marina. Of this sum, Rs 10 million will be dedicated to 13 projects led by nine organisms and Non-governmental organizations (NGO).
Were present during this ceremony, Suren Dayal, Minister of the
social Integration and the economic Empowerment, the deputies of
the region Marie Josique Radegonde-Haines and Maya Hanoomanjee,
Krishna Ratnee, president of the Black-River District Council, the
representatives of the NGO and the stakeholders of the region of
Black-River.
The ceremony was held at "La Maison de La Balise" in River-black,
in the presence of Gilbert Espitalier-Noël, Chief Executive Officer
of ENL Property, Dominic Dupont, General Manager of La Balise
Marina and Mario Radegonde, CSR manager of ENL Foundation who
pilots the implementation and the execution of La Balise Marina
Social Plan.
Five organisms, mostly NGO, are selected to benefit from this
first payment for year 2011 namely "Caritas de Rivière-Noire",
"Ecole des Techniciennes de Maison", "Grande-Rivière-Noire Welfare
Association", "Pont de Tamarinier Association" and the Black
River Village Council. The education and the training of the
inhabitants, the increase of employability and the improvement of
the game areas and leisure activities are the main axes of the
projects which are supported through these NGO.
The other institutions which will be assisted during the next two
years are "Ti-rayon soleil","Garderie de l'Etoile", the Black River
Government School and "Etoile d'Esperance", allowing the
implementation of 13 projects in the neighbourhood.
